Loch Ard - Swim around Eilean Gorm

Approx 4km in length, Loch Ard is situated within the Trossachs National Park. There are multiple sites of entry. There is a lovely 2-3km swim leaving from the East End of the loch going around Eilean Gorm (Green Island)

  • FK8 3TW

  • Entry point for this swim is a small beach with gradual slope in the water.

  • Can park on the street in Kinlochleven and short walk to gradually sloping grassy bank to beach.

  • Strong currents are not typical of Loch Ard. There maybe some small water movements around the inflow from the River Duchray and other smaller burns and an outflow Avon Dhu this is not expected to pose a challenge to swimmers.

  • Summer - 14 to 17, Winter 2-5.
