Small Loch, approx 1km in diameter, situated just outside south-west of Glasgow.

  • Shallow entry from grass, very gradual gradient.

  • Approx 20-30m from the car park.

  • Situated next to a wind farm. Can be choppy from the wind but usually doesn't affect swimming too much. Sometimes come out of the water with a brown face.

  • 12-18 in summer, 2-5 in winter.

  • Not formally monitored. Green-algae was a problem in 2022 and possible after a period of warm weather. Can be a slimy brownish colour to your skin when you get out - this is because of peat and does not impact on water quality.
